On 3 Aug 2018 we talked to the Woocommerce Plugin Support and they said:
Support: “So our FedEx extension does include a freight option and will work in the US and Canada.
It says if a package is found, they will add a surcharge. But also states that they will not accept any package over the maximum limit. Then they provide rates in the other document. It’s conflicting information from them indeed, but it seems like their API will not accept over 150 lbs. Please let me double check that and get back to you.
Yes it will work for orders over 150lbs. FedEx ground limits to 150 lbs at which point freight takes over and is good up to 20,000 lbs. You’ll need freight enabled in the extension and enabled in your FedEx account.

We contacted pluginhive asking them for the ability to ship orders that weigh over 150lbs on 3 Aug 2018
On 6 Aug 2018 we talked to the Pluginhive Support and they said:
The basic version of the plugin is meant for small shop owners who have a 1 or 2 products in their inventory. Hence, Freight services are not available with the plugin.
Our premium plugins (Fedex, UPS) will definitely return Live shipping rates for both ‘Freight’ (weight > 150 lbs) and normal (weight <150 lbs) services.
Note: Your FedEx and UPS Account must have the permission to access Freight services.
By using the premium versions of both of the above plugins, you can get rates for packages more than 150 lbs. For getting the rates, you need a freight account for them. Once you have freight accounts, you need to provide account details in the plugin. Attached screenshots for your reference.

Other WP plugins that DID NOT work for orders over 150lbs
Below plugins are great if your products weigh under 150 lbs. However, they don’t work for orders that are over 150lbs.
Woocommerce Live Shipping Rates Plugin for Purolator

We use this plugin for some of our ecommerce clients and it works wonders with the live shipping rates, however it doesn’t allow rates for orders that weight over 150lbs.
On 3 Aug 2018 we talked to the Woocommerce Plugin Support and they said
It appears that 150 lbs. is the max weight handled by the extension.
Although Puralator does offer freight options for shipment over 150 lbs as per their rate guides https://www.purolator.com/assets/pdf/rate-zone-guides/Purolator_Rate_Guide_English.pdf, the extension doesn’t include a freight option at this time.
It doesn’t appear their API calculates rates for weights above 150 lbs.

On 3 Aug 2018 Woocommerce support confirmed that you cannot get live shipping rates working for orders over 150lbs with their UPS Shipping plugin.

Xadapter.com USPS Live Shipping Rates Plugin

USPS carrier does not allow shipments over 70 lbs. Therefore, our USPS plugin does not support Freight shipments.

We contacted xadapter asking for the ability to ship over 150lbs with their Canada Post Plugin on 3 Aug 2018
Their support replied:
The maximum allowed Item Weight in case of Canada Post is 66.00 lb. Hence, Canada Post API does not permit shipments over 66 lbs, so Freight shipping would not be possible with Canada Post.
